Pizzeria Libretto is a lively Toronto neighbourhood restaurant offering Real Neapolitan Pizza certified by the VPN.
Atmosphere? Bright, busy, fun, loud and homey. Everyone is welcome: singles & couples, young and old, families, and those going on their very first date. No dress code—come as you are, or however you want to be.
Libretto aims to be loyal to what real pizza is, invented in Naples using local natural ingredients, cooked in a wood fired oven at extremely high heat to achieve a charred, blistered crust. We use San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte Mozzarella, brought in fresh daily. Our dough is made with naturally leavened Italian Caputo doppio zero flour. Our pizza bakes in less than 90 seconds in our 900 degree wood burning oven, hand built for us by 3rd generation pizza oven maker, Stefano Ferrara in Naples. Simple, Honest, and Natural.

    Went at 5:45pm with 2 kids. Service was friendly and prompt…and bonus points for taking the kids orders right away and bringing their food out first! Steak add-on to the salad could have been a bit more generous. Calamari looked amazing but just ok flavoured. Pizza was amazing (as expected), and Orichette with rapini and sausage was also amazing! Sicilian daydream cocktail was outstanding! I’m still dreaming about it!

    Great pizza both Neapolitan and New York Style. The dipping sauces are house-made and add a nice touch. A great place to dine with friends.

    We are from Montreal and when we come for a Blue Jays’ week end since 2017 or other reasons, Libretto Pizzeria on University is a must for us. The place is not loud, we have a very good service and the pizzas are just the best we ever ate each time ! Simply delicious. Try the place and you will adopt it !

    Have been many times to Libretto & usually love the New York style pizza but we tried the one with Genoa salami and was terrible because they add maple syrup. Made the pizza sickly sweet. We had to dab it off with paper towels but it still ruined the pizza. The waitress offered to bring us another pizza but we declined. Other than that it was great as usual.

    Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear that the Hot Maple ingredient on our Hot Genoa Salami pizza, wasn't to your liking. The Hot Maple is a signature element of that pizza and is enjoyed by many, but we completely understand that taste preferences vary. Next time, just let us know, and we'll happily omit it for you.
