Located in the heart of Islamorada at mile marker 81.6, Pierre's Restaurant is set amidst a glorious, palm-lined beach overlooking blue waters, with walking paths through tropical flowers and a thatched forest. The two-story exterior resembles the old colonial style residences found in West Africa, but its interior reflects different cultures from around the world. Pierre's offers fine dining on the second floor. Guests may enjoy meals indoors, or on the balcony-accompanied by Islamorada's spectacular sunsets and tropical views. The Green Flash Lounge serves guests on the main floor and the downstairs veranda. Outdoor seating is first come, first served and not available to be reserved.

My wife and I booked this place for an anniversary dinner and it was a real disappointment. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. They did bring us out a complimentary ‘Happy Anniversary’ tart before the check, which was thoughtful. That was the high point. We booked a 6:30 reservation with a request for outdoor seating because it is such a beautiful location. The hostess and manager? Owner? Someone else, spent a while talking us out of sitting outside because it would be too hot. That’s probably true, but the dining room (the only alternative) has zero ambiance/atmosphere. It has all of the charm of a nice retirement community’s cafeteria. Maybe it was partially a product of the timing but when we went it was dead and silent. Maybe 4 other tables and you could only hear peoples’ silverware on their plates and clinking of moving glasses 😐. Zero conversations taking place. If you are in the dining room - you really can’t see the beach or water. So, at that point you could be anywhere - you lose all of the charm of the location. The food is very expensive, which is to be expected of a fine dining place (think $40 - $75 entrees). The problem is - it’s not that good. We got the shrimp cocktail, which was fresh but very bland. I got the duck, which was good, but not great. My wife got a salmon special that was genuinely not good. It was a touch overcooked, giving it a little more of a ‘fishy’ flavor and then there was the sauce. Two words could describe the dish overall - ‘creamy fish’ - if that sounds like a flavor profile you are into then go for it, in fairness to the restaurant it did seem like it was a hit with one other table that was there so maybe it just wasn’t our thing 🤷‍♂️. Overall this feels like an old world fine dining experience that is frozen in time, and not in a charming way (like I was expecting) more like the rest of the world has moved on and evolved and this place has not.

It was a special dinner. The staff was VERY accommodating to some special needs. The plates were beautiful like works of art and delicious! Our compliments to the Chef. Thank you so very much to the manager, Dylan, hostess Isa,server JC and support team that made this beautiful memory for us. Sunset later out back was the cherry on top!

The service was excellent. The outside view is truly spectacular. The rack of lamb for $75 was an incredibly tiny portion. Literally two single bone lamb chops. My husband had the seafood appetizer for $54.00 and that was a very large portion with quality oysters, shrimp and lobster tail. I would not recommend the lamb chops.

Food was good and the service was good. I did think it was ridiculous to be charged $25 per water bottle of tap water ($5 filtered water charge per bottle). Also, although we fully decided to dine outside although we were told that it was hot outside, I really think that they should have fans outside.

Unfortunetly my review will not be favorable to Pierres however it will be honest and true. We were greeted kindly, however eventhough we (2 couples were celebrating our anniversaries 39 years & 16 years)it was not acknowledged, eventhough it was clearly stated on my Opentable special request. We also asked to be seated on the outdoor veranda and that was not even offered,mind you the restaurant was empty? I will say that the server was nice and caring ! So I also noticed a musty odor in the dining room, I recommend a comprehensive cleaning. The server offered some recommendations, I was surprised that there really were no French inspired dishes, I had seen maybe an older menu,and that was the reason I selected them.I would say that the menu was not very exciting .The ladies ordered the lobster,they inquired about an additional lobster tail, however did not order it. I ordered the ribeye,the other gentlemen ordered the grouper. So they brought bread to the table,with butter,The bread was below standards, it was some type of puffy, tasteless bread, and to add cold hard butter,I requested olive oil, since the butter was not speadable. Wines were overpriced and limited with selection, ribeye was served with a whole bunch of sauce on top? they brought an extra lobster tail eventhough it was not ordered (and charged for it) the grouper was mediocre at best. salad was fancy but tasteless. frankly the food did not meet any expectations of what was advertised.they did not even acknowledge our anniversaries, then came dessert,they were out of the chocolate lava cake ? we selected the creme brulee, not good at all. simply put , this place is overpriced, the food is not up to par,I must add probably one of the worst fine dining establishments I have ever experienced.Maybe in years past they were great,however they really dropped the ball. when you pay nearly $600for 2 couples.I recommend the Square Grouper its the real deal, Pierres needs help!!

Just "regular" restaurant food like chain restaurant, not good or sophisticated enough for upscale expensive restaurant, only the view is great, not worth the money.
