The Blackbird Bar and Restaurant, at 37-39 Leven Street in the Bruntsfield area of south-west Edinburgh, serves modern Scottish cuisine. It is located close to The Meadows public park, less than 10 minutes by car or taxi from Waverley and Haymarket Railway Stations; Edinburgh Castle and the city centre are around 20 minutes' walk away. I took my partner here for their birthday dinner. Sora Lella is always our go-to on special occasions - we had a lovely time! The staff made it a gorgeous night and put a birthday candle on our dessert! Will endlessly recommend Sora Lella <3

Great staff and atmosphere, service was fantastic. The only issue I had was with the gluten free breakfast, alternative swaps were made for gluten containing items but they were a little unusual. Gluten free versions of the items, sausages, black pudding, haggis are easy to obtain. Especially sausages why not just serve GF versions as standard, many options available for this and price point not really different. If you are not in need of gluten free it’s fabulous but do think they can do a bit better for coeliac sufferers.
