The destination for authentic Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand has received numerous accolades, including a 3-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times, and being listed two years in a row on the NYT’s 100 Best Restaurants in NYC as well as being nominated as a semifinalist in the outstanding Restaurateur category for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards. Zaab Zaab is also recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.  “My original thinking when we opened the restaurant was to serve the local Thai community in Elmhurst,” says Chunton. “Clearly I underestimated New York City’s appetite for Northeastern Thai food. Asuka serves some of the best sushi in NYC for very decent prices. The drinks are also excellent, and the service wonderful. Still my favourite restaurant after all these years.

Incredible Thai food unlike any other Thai food I have had personally. I had the Chicken Khao Soi noodles which were absolutely incredible. They have a pretty limited vegetarian menu but what they do have is also very very good. The value for the food at a Michelin star restaurant is unparalleled.

This was our 18th wedding anniversary & chose to celebrate it somewhere new. The ambiance was amazing. Our server was very attentive & the service was amazing. Everything came out right on time which was greatly appreciated. We had chicken & vegetable spring rolls which were amazing. My husband ordered sweet & sour chicken which he loved & I ordered beef & broccoli which was good but I felt the beef was a lil chewy. My drink Mai Tai wasn’t that good but the mistaken drink Brooklyn was amazing. We will be back again in the future to try some other food.
