Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Il Colosseo is an Italian restaurant that is a local favorite. The dining room here is small and intimate, which adds to the homey atmosphere the eatery provides. At the back of the dining room, Il Colosseo has an open kitchen where guests can watch as the talented kitchen staff prepares the food. The kitchen is dominated by a giant brick oven where the staff cooks up all of its incredible pizzas.Il Colosseo begins its menu with antipasti like fried calamari for two, baked clams, sautéed octopus, sautéed broccoli rabe and a pasta e fagioli soup with white kidney beans and fusilli noodles in a light tomato broth. Excellent dishes with lovely presentation and a cohesive seafood theme. Wine pairing works amazingly with the dishes. Service was on point and I loved my conversations with the servers and the sommelier!

The service was attentive, though we were the only ones in there for the first 10 minutes of our visit but even as it got busier the service was still good! The food came quickly and was delicious. We both had pizza which was cooked to perfection.
