They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

Currently, Tavern 29 has three floors of service available. Our outdoor rooftop is open but with an enclosure for the winter season. With two interior bars for service, there is ample space for great cocktails, beers, wines, and food. Remember brunch w/bottomless beverage options available EVERY DAY, from 11 AM-4 PM (last seating for bottomless brunch is 2:30 PM). All guests must be 21+ of age with a valid photo ID.
