It was a wonderful experience to have dinner there. It was my 50th birthday dinner with my wife. The service we got from everyone was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

An all around lovely dining experience. We celebrated my husband's birthday and was everything that we could have wanted. We always want more than just a delicious meal. We want the whole experience to be wonderful - and it was from start to finish.

We were lucky to have the Peninsula Grill downstairs at our hotel because it is an amazingly good restaurant. Our server was very friendly and the food was outstanding. Everything we had was the best! The room was crowded but the noise level was quiet and we couldn't hear any other conversations.

The bar area and bar tender was great. Loved eating on patio. Food excellent. Server was unorganized and a little flustered. I don’t know if she was serving to many tables or if it was just a bad night

After coming back for the fifth visit, it may be our last. The service was horrible. The Woman that served us should not be working in fine dining. She never refilled our wine or waters. She never cleaned off our table between courses. She never cleared our dishes between courses without asking. We had to ask for the promised bread. To be sure the Sommelier and Chef tried to do service recovery. But our server never got the message at all. Ruined an Anniversary celebration. BTW, our friend informed us she tried calling the restaurant three times that evening to get us a drink and dessert. No one answered the phone. No real greeting or acknowledgment when we left. I don’t expect this overall level of service when you pay Michelin prices.

Well done, probably. Umber 15 on our list of restaurant experiences? Not very unique as an experience, but high caliber and quality food. Chef’s experiments, including the foie gras, were impeccable. The cocktail list is very, very tired. Entree was excellent but not note-worthy. Will probably not come again if I’m in town because of the incredibly expansive and inventive restaurant scene in town. Grateful for the experience.

We were so excited to celebrate our anniversary here. It was our first night in Charleston and we had reservations and were seated right away in the dining room. We had tables close to is on either side and couldn’t really hear each other so they kindly moved us to the patio. The atmosphere was great out there with lights and music and noise level was much lower so I highly recommend dining on the patio. Our server was very friendly but seemed either inexperienced or unsure. Was very slow with her speech and a little awkward. We ordered the seafood tower with caviar to celebrate our special night and it was AMAZING! Best oysters I’ve ever had. Yet after that service and food slowed down a bit. Took about 20min after that cleared to get our salad and after that we were questioning what was taking so long after another half hour passed with no meal, and just a mumble from our server when she quickly walked by each time. A manager stopped by and asked how everything was and I explained that and she replied, “yes. There was a miscommunication in the kitchen but it should only be another two min”. I was annoyed. If they knew there was a mistake, they didn’t explain that right away, and the manager chose to take the temp of us before explaining and apologizing. At this caliber, The minute something happens you approach the table and explain and take care of them. She did offer a glass of wine on the house but we declined (as I do not drink) Ten minutes later our food arrived. Server apologized profusely, offered another glass of wine (Declined again because I don’t drink. She knew this also because we spoke at length about it and hen we were first sat down and she offered me a mocktail that I did order) My scallops were cooked perfectly but the topping was overpowering tMy husbands filet was over cooked but we were not about to wait again. They took off his wine and we left after three hours disappointed.
