Open since 2002 Palmettos on the Bayou is a charming and elegant Acadian style restaurant serving classic Creole dishes highlighting fresh Louisiana ingredients.

Set on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca near Old Town Slidell, our waterfront restaurant/event venue is known for its southern charm. Palmettos famous Brunch features live Jazz Saturday and Sunday. The 5,000sqf covered deck provides a dramatic outdoor setting at night for romantic dinners and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere during the day.

We are honored to have been named Best Brunch, Dining with a View, and Most Romantic by various local publications throughout the years.

We're located at 1901 Bayou Lane, next to Heritage Park.

This is a beautiful place to dine. The atmosphere is very nice. Not sure what was going on with the hostess but she had a bit of an unpleasant attitude with us and was ignoring us. We got pass that. The food wasn’t as tasty at the buffet as it use to be and it use to have better selection of food, but what they did have was good so we enjoyed it for the most part!

The food was great and so was the mimosas. The service was good from our waiter. The only thing was that we didn’t know what to do when we first got there and we asked another waiter instead of her helping. She pointed to our waiter and we told him we were waiting. Instead of pointing us in the right direction or answering the question.

We really enjoyed our brunch. The variety was plentiful. The service was really terrific. The thing we enjoyed the most was the ambiance.

We popped in on a rainy night and had a great meal. Our server was delightful and make great recommendations. Suggest sitting outside to get the bayou vibe. Moderate pricing. Food was well prepared. Service team worked together seamlessly for clearing courses and delivering. Definitely will be back!

It took way too long for every course especially since the restaurant was relatively empty. The food was bland and disappointing. The atmosphere is amazing but the food fell way short of our expectations. The server was nice but had to keep apologizing for the time it took to get our meal. Had the food been better that probably wouldn’t have been much of an issue but waiting for average expensive food makes for a bad experience.

We went for Jazz Brunch on a Sunday, and the food was tasty and fresh. The server greeted us after 10 minutes, but was good.It was buffet-style with servers at some stations, but there should be more frequent monitoring when food needs to be refreshed.Had a great experience and will definitely return.

We were there to celebrate my husband’s Birthday with friends. We ave eaten here many times, but this time the food was not up to par. The steaks were overcooked, the grits were cold, the fish was fishy tasting and the food was just not up to the usual quality. The service was excellent but otherwise we were disappointed. The manager responded to our overcooked steaks by giving us a free desert. I was really disappointing as this has always been a favorite restaurant of ours. I feel for the cost of the meal we should have received a better meal.
