I made reservations on the recommendation from a friend. We were celebrating two birthdays, my husband and our godson. I had noted that on the reservation. The service was just okay. Our waiter never came back to check on us. I had to ask a waitress passing by for two glasses of Chianti. I ordered the gnocchi and they were just like my mother's...delicious. The two meatballs alongside the dish could have used more seasoning. The osso buco was just okay as was the steak. The bread and Caesar salad were excellent. I missed having fresh parmesan at the table as well as ground pepper. Overall, it was an okay dinner.

This is a rare restaurant, where the owner is there to greet you and make you feel welcome. The staff is so nice and efficient. The staff gets to know the regulars and you feel like you are dining with friends. Plus the food is excellent. It is rare to find restaurants like this in the day and age.

This has become my "go to" when I don't want to travel far. Nino and his staff are ALWAYS on top of things.

Osteria is normally one of our favorite Italian restaurants. But last Sunday they hosted a large wine tasting in a private room. Consequently service was non-existent for the rest of us and our food was overcooked, namely my wife's chicken picata and my veal marsala. Normally the service is attentive and the food excellent. However we will not return on a wine tasting night.

While the food was great, every detail thought of, the service--from the hostess to the owner greeting and chatting with us was PERFECT! Would highly recommend.
