Excellent food in general; the burger is really outstanding and an exceptional value. Friendly, attentive servers. We live in Princeton but One 53 in Rocky Hill is our go-to restaurant for a nice family dinner out.

We love one 53! Excellent food and drinks and the bartenders Craig and Manny are real pros. One complaint - they need a bigger bar :-)

This is my favorite restaurant I come for special occasions.. always order the pork chop I have it blackened with a chimichurri sauce always excellent Thank you

All around excellent experience. A Sunday night, so not bustling as 153 can be other nights. Food, innovative and delicious and service attentive and gracious. Love this place.

When we asked about a great celebratory spot for dinner ONE 53 was highly recommended. Our recent first visit was a bit underwhelming. You right away step into a rather awkward, cramped entry, albeit with a lovely host greeting you. Once seated, I found the decor to be a bit dated and pedestrian. A weird mix of faux reclaimed wood and upholstery right out of a doctor’s office waiting room. A bit cramped and awkward within the dining room as well. I thought I was at the sort of place that if you order a martini it would be properly prepared, not a watered-down concoction with a layer of tiny icebergs. Sigh... The drink was quickly remade but that initial indolent act didn't set a good tone for things to come. Salads were assembled in cereal bowls with everything cut into cubes, remining me of a cafeteria line. A plated presentation would have showcased all the ingredients better, provided variety, more texture, and made for and easier knife-and-fork approach to enjoying the dishes. This course was served with cold bread served with even colder butter that was impossible to spread, though it was cutely adorned with salt and either black sesame or nigella seeds. At least the scallops were handled pretty well with a nice if inconsistent sear, and served atop flavorful yet a bit stodgy saffron risotto. Also, being asked several times if we're "still WORKING on that" was a bit tiresome. Nice enough staff, they just need some polishing and tuned up hospitality. I certainly wouldn't go an hour out of my way to dine at ONE 53 again, but I might drop in if in the area again.

Great visit after not going for a while. Service, food, specials all excellent. Prices are what you’d expect for this level of food and service. For a suburban setting, it’s a bit close and a little noisy inside. Think NYC not central NJ. But the menu is large for this type of place including a number of specialty drinks. We had the pork chop, chicken Milanese and the swordfish special. All great. Think of ONE 53 as the place to go for a special occasion or just an elevated night out.
