Old Tbilisi Garden Is The Only Georgian Restaurant In Greenwich Village, New York City. Old Tbilisi Garden opened on July 4th, 2014. Since then, it has been one of the only few restaurants that offer authentic Georgian Cuisine in Manhattan. Winemaking is deeply rooted in Georgia’s history, culture
and economy. The world’s first cultivated grapevines are
thought to have originated in the country’s fertile valleys
some 8,000 years ago. Georgia’s long winemaking history
has given rise to unique methods of production, such as
the “Kakhetian rule”. Georgians make wine that is aged and
stored in a special cone-shaped clay vessel known as
a Qvevri.

The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We ordered an assortment of dishes to share and they were all so good- I would definitely return!

Selected this place for its proximity to where we were staying and also that it presented an interesting menu with many gluten free options.

Excellent dinner for 3. We enjoyeed the dry white Kisi wine. We shared the "boat shaped" Khachapuri ("Georgian pizza" with luscious Sulguni cheese), and the beef and pork Khinkali dumplings. The entrees -- pork skewers, the branzino, the Shkmeruli were all terrific. We were seated in the "garden" area in the back, which is lovely. The service was friendly, prompt and courteous. Note: They only accept AMEX and cash.

We had an amazing meal! The food was delicious and we tried a variety of Georgian dishes that were extraordinary. The service was attentive, kind and they were passionate about sharing their knowledge about what to try. The wine was lovely as well. We certainly will come back.

This was my first introduction to Georgian cuisine and it was spectacular. I got three appetizers and one entree, all delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful in explaining how to eat certain dishes. The ambience is relaxed, the decor is old school makes it cozy. This restaurant is amazing, only thing I will say is they only accept cash or American Express, I don’t think it is placed on their website or Google.

Wonderful gem of a restaurant. Fun to try out all of the authentic Georgian dishes and wine. Can’t wait to go back again.

Excellent! First time enjoying Georgian food and it did not disappoint. Service was wonderful. Wine selection was exciting and varied. Loved the glass options for many of them. Highly recommend
