The Old Surrey Restaurant is Surrey’s best well- kept secret. Built in 1918, it was the residence of Lou Jack and his household until it was converted into a restaurant in 1974.

The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.

The restaurant is family owned and operated since 1975. Since 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.

The vegetarian options, including the ravioli and soup of the day, were simply exquisite and defied description. The bruschetta was also a delicious treat on the side. As for the meat dishes, my wife, who is quite discerning in her food critiques, proclaimed the steak to be the best she has ever tasted. The desserts were a delightful finish to the meal, with the strawberry sorbet being a particular standout. The crème brulee was also a lovely choice. The staff at the restaurant were exceptional, matching the greatness of the food with their impeccable courtesy and service. A truly memorable dining experience.

Visited the first time 15 years ago and just remember it being a random amazing restaurant in the middle of Surrey. Went here last night for our anniversary dinner and it's still amazing. Old style service.. the kind you don't find anymore. A nice quiet ambience and wonderful food. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Old Surrey. We ordered the Châteaubriand special which was featured in celebration of the restaurant’s 50th anniversary. Although we are not accustomed to spending so much $ at a restaurant, I found the service and experience of tableside preparation was worth the cost. I would absolutely consider Old Surrey next time I feel like going out for a special dinner. Thank you for a dinner I won’t soon forget, if ever.

A great eating experience having the Chateau briand special. More food than usually ordered but it was entertaining watching food being prepared at our table & for those around us.

Excellent service from Jasmine , Rob and Ty Unfortunately rib-eye steak was tough and sinewy. Not enjoyable or really edible. They did remove the cost of thar steak From our order. thank you

This is a very nice restaurant and the food is very high quality. Our servers were wonderful and we had a terrific birthday dinner.
