The Old Surrey Restaurant is Surrey’s best well- kept secret. Built in 1918, it was the residence of Lou Jack and his household until it was converted into a restaurant in 1974.

The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.

The restaurant is family owned and operated since 1975. Since 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.

Traditionally French, the Chateaubriand features a AAA Filet Tenderloin flambéed tableside with a Rémy Martin Cognac demi glaze accompanied by a variety of organic local vegetables

Fresh Osoyoos Cherries flambéed in Kirsch and Cherry Brandy, smothered over vanilla ice cream

This is a very nice restaurant and the food is very high quality. Our servers were wonderful and we had a terrific birthday dinner.

The old Surrey restaurant is a gem The food is top notch The staff are knowledgeable friendly and funny The restaurant it self is very cool a old farm house from the 1920s I believe U cannot go wrong with a visit to Old Surrey

This was a totally random find for a first date, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Very charming ambiance, polite server, and excellent food- we both had Caesar salads that were prepared at the table and were very good, and our entrees consisted of ribeye steak and the seafood platter which were both very tasty. My only very minor criticism that prevented five stars across the board was that used plates and empty glasses were not cleared right away. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

My wife and I had dinner at the Old Surrey last night (August 20th) to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect - the service, food, wine, ambience and dessert(s) with just enough time between courses to make it very pleasant and unrushed. We took advantage of the four course Chateaubriand special they have running from July to the end of August - appetizer (shrimp), Caesar salad, main course (the Chateaubriand) and dessert (cherries jubilee) - also surprising us with a small crème brûlée for our anniversary! We have dined at the Old Surrey a few times in the past for special occasions, and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended!
