The Old Lyme Inn’s restaurant and bar offers guests contemporary New England Fare in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. Our chef embraces the changing seasons and bounty of the Connecticut River Valley to offer creative menus that change weekly.
Since it's opening in April 2012, the restaurant has quickly become a celebrated meeting place for visitors and locals alike. The inn boasts three different dining rooms, a grand eight seat bar and a fireplace adorned library. The Side Door Jazz Club offers shows every Friday and Saturday night and has been recognized by 'Down Beat' magazine as one of the best jazz venues in the world.
Whether you're joining us for our famous 'Jazzy' brunch, cozying up with a friend at our afternoon tea or enjoying an elegant dinner before a show at the Side Door; we can't wait to exceed your expectations.

Sweets will include 'Midnight' Dark Chocolate Cakelettes, 'Lover' Berry Pies, Cardigan Shortbread Cookies, 'Shake it off' Pretzels, Friendship Bracelet cupcakes, macarons and truffles. The patio dining is one of my faves outdoor places. I love to listen to jazz while dining. We had salad and steak, perfectly cooked. Hubby had the salmon, not a very generous portion. I notice everyone was ordering the Berger, it was a good size. Next time. Prices are average compared to to other restaurants. I recommend. Not a very extensive menu but ambience make up for it.

Great spot! Will definitely be back. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. The jazz bar is fantastic! Highly recommend. Bartender was excellent. Menu is delish! We had the thai trio app, Pad Thai and Blood Orange glazed salmon over lo mein.

Beautiful summer morning, in a garden setting, under shade trees with a warm, gentle breeze…a fabulous jazz band playing, delicious omelets, pancakes, and eggs breakfasts…Could it get any better than this? We think not! Highly recommend the “Jazzy Brunch” at the Old Lyme Inn❤️

We had a wonderful server, and she really went out of her way to make our dining experience, exceptional. I’ve been eating here for many years, larger than the product of going to the jazz club next-door, which is one of my favorite places to be! The quality of the food and service has ebbed and flowed in recent years, however, this time the service was excellent, and the food is heading in that direction! The only thing I take exception with, and I will note that were there were just two of us, the bill came, it automatically had 20% added on to it. Most unusual for a party less of than six people. We in fact, added an additional tip as our server was wonderful, and exceptionally nice! To that point, the tip should be at the discretion of the people who’s are dining to decide whether they want to tip 15%, 20%, 25%, and have it be reflective of the experience that they actually had! This was our second visit to “The Patio” for food and jazz. Although the music was very good, it was a bit too loud for conversation. In addition, the food was good, not great—the salmon was slightly overcooked, the lo mein noodles were a bit gummy, and the burger ordered by another guest was also overcooked. The servers were friendly and attentive when available, but service was very slow—this was surprising considering that most of the tables were empty. We will return for “Jazz on the Patio”, as I don’t believe this experience was the norm for dining at this restaurant.

Sort of straight forward food. Always very good, but don't expect creative. Nice New England ambiance. Very friendly and super-helpful staff; we had someone in a walker and they were lovely in how they took care of us. Only issue was very slow dinner service; they may have been understaffed, but it just seemed inefficient. But, as I said, exceptionally friendly and nice.

This was fun and great day out. I would do this again. The food was amazing to look at, as well as flavor. I went to the Wizard of Oz event. The only thing that would have been a great addition, if they were playing the movie while we were eating. That would have been so perfect! I am already planning in August for friends from another state to experience.
