The Old Lyme Inn’s restaurant and bar offers guests contemporary New England Fare in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. Our chef embraces the changing seasons and bounty of the Connecticut River Valley to offer creative menus that change weekly.
Since it's opening in April 2012, the restaurant has quickly become a celebrated meeting place for visitors and locals alike. The inn boasts three different dining rooms, a grand eight seat bar and a fireplace adorned library. The Side Door Jazz Club offers shows every Friday and Saturday night and has been recognized by 'Down Beat' magazine as one of the best jazz venues in the world.

Food was disappointing. COD entree was very small and tough and the pork entree was overcooked, dry with minimal dressing.

Lovely jazz; great server. Only critique is coffee and water could have been replenished. Beautiful brunch! Eggs Benedict- perfect!

Unfortunately for me, I ordered the house salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was dry, and the salad dressing had anchovies in it. My stomach was upset from the dressing. I kept thinking, why am I tasting fish? No less a fish, I wouldn't say I like it at all. I thought it was odd to have this ingredient in the salad dressing. The server was apologetic, and the hostess suggested having toast, which I ordered. The restaurant was very loud in the bar area. We asked to be moved to a quiet room. We were seated in a back game room. The room was quieter, however the table was a card table. The whole experience was one I wish to forget.

This is a wonderful place to stay and the dining room is a beatiful room. Service people may have been overworked the night we went but every order along the way including drinks took a long time to get when seemingly not that much was going on. The filet Mignon, most expensive item on the menu, came out a little cold and the sauce was slighlty burnt. We would have sent it back but were waiting about an hour for it. The caesar salad was more like a regular salad without the characteristics of a traditional caesar salad. The prices seemed a little high ($12 for a creme Brullee in a very tiny ramakin about the size of a butter ramakin). We have eaten here before a while back and it was great. I am chalking up this experience to a bad night. The breakfast was great however and it is a great place to stay.

The food was better than expected. I had scallops on polenta and my friend had a salmon dish. We sat inside during one of the sweltering summer evenings.

It’s always a joy to attend the Jazz Brunch at the Old Lyme Inn. The Day was beautiful, the ambiance was amazing, the food was delicious and the service was Top notch! We will be back! Thank You to everyone at the Old Lyme Inn!!!

Lovely Inn with great charm! Quintessential New England charm. Jazz music on the patio was a nice touch… Great food… Had the pork tenderloins with hoisin sauce with Asian slaw and it was fantastic! Grilled polenta salad was also very good as well as flourless chocolate torte. Service was top shelf, and our waiter made sure we were taken care of. The hostess Tasha was very personable and made our experience a pleasurable one…. definitely would go back again when I’m in Connecticut.
