Ouvert depuis 1856, l'Old Ebbitt Grill est le plus ancien restaurant de Washington, DC.     Had dinner with colleagues from 20 years ago. Great to reconnect on life. It was the perfect place to do that - food was great and service was great.

    The ambiance and food were excellent. The perfect lighting added to the atmosphere. Old, established restaurant with great food and service.

    We sat in the very last booth at the back of the restaurant and thus had very slow service. It took over half an hour to receive our bottle of wine, getting a hold of our server to ask for extra bread for our crab dip and the bill took way longer than it should have. Food quality and taste were good but not outstanding as I expected.

    Our waiter (Mike) was instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for me and my guests. The location was wonderfully decorated, ambiance was inviting and fun, but it was Mike that helped guide us through the options on the menu. He was patient and very accommodating, but his true skill was listening to us and finding our likes/dislikes to uncover our culinary needs and exceed them. Every dish was better than the next and Mike’s recommendations were perfect for us. Best crab cakes we’ve ever had and the oysters were fabulous. The clam chowder was delicious as was the filet. We will be back.

    Have been here several times, love their food and the environment. I always get the crab cakes, and our daughter loves their vegetarian pasta dishes. Highly recommend!

    The waiter was excellent as was the service from the front to the end of the meal. My wife ordered the Bell Evans chicken and she loved it. I had a tast and understand why. The reason why I did not give the food or some of the other categories excellent was because the trout parmesan I had was ordinary. The batter was tasty, but not special as I have come to expect at the Ebbitt. Nor was the hollandaise sauce. Everyone is entitled to a less than shining performance, so I will of course go back and will likely get a very good meal. I still highly recommend the Ebbitt.

    Food was delicious, cocktails were amazing, and the desserts were perfect! They even bought us a dessert for our anniversary!

    Old Ebbitt Grill is an experience we avail ourselves of each time we are in D.C. This trip we were able to take a couple of friends, and they were "wowed." the food, the atmosphere, and the service were outstanding, as usual. I highly recommend.
