Under the guidance of the Livanos family and Paul McLaughlin, Oceana has provided New Yorkers with an exceptional seafood destination since 1992.

Oceana delivers a fresh, seasonal, innovative and approachable seafood-forward menu, with additional offerings suitable for any palate.

Oceana has a 70 seat Cafe with a 18 seat marble bar. Great for lunch, after work cocktails & snacks, pre-theater dinner and post-theater desserts. Spring and Summer bring a 50 seat outdoor dining area, private dining options include our Chefs Table for 4, our new Chefs Counter for 6, Wine Room for 18, and our Grand Salon for 80. Full buyouts are also available.

    We were blown away by the service and ambiance of Oceana. We are from the Gulf Coast and must say this was the best seafood dinner we have had yet!

    I am not saying this lightly. Unquestionably the best meal my husband and I ever had. We had four courses chosen off the regular menu accompanied by wine pairings explained by the sommelier, Matt, who loved his job. It was not unlike an interesting history lesson. Great food! I agree with my husband who said that they really know how to season. I have to add they know how to add an unexpected ingredient that made what would have been a mundane mushroom risotto pop. It was just the right, small amount of pickled mushrooms sprinkled on top. While the crabcake was huge, lump and traditionally prepared. Where it wasn’t required they didn’t over season or do anything just to do something new. Nothing seemed like an afterthought. Fine dining at its best. We are both looking forward to going back.

    Lobster pasta was excellent. Filet mignon was disappointing. Service was very attentive.

    My mother and I dined at Oceana recently on a Tuesday evening after the Radio City Christmas show. We had a mixed experience. The restaurant was lovely, though the ambient noise level was pretty high. The service was absolutely wonderful. But the food was a mixed bag. My halibut was good, though the sauce was not notably flavorful. My mother enjoyed the crab cake. Her side salad, which claimed to come pre-dressed seemed lacking any dressing. And we sent two desserts back to the kitchen. That’s right folks, we are dessert lovers, and are not snobs on this front, but after each, my 79 year old mom put down her fork and refused to take another bite. It’s hard to make a bad cheesecake, but this one had no flavor whatsoever, no sweetness at all. Similarly, the pistachio semifreddo looked beautiful, but lacked any sweetness, leading my mom to remark, “I feel like I’m eating a mouthful of peanut butter.” We wondered if the kitchen had run out of sugar and had simply made the desserts without any. Given the price point, we were surprised anything, never mind a dessert, could be so off that we would send it back.

    Honestly, the food was very bland. The ambiance is lovely, but the food was unseasoned and lacked flavor.

    We frequently have our Annual Corporate Holiday lunch here and it's always wonderful. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. Thank you Oceana for a great experience!
