O&B Canteen is a casual, fresh market café and “grab and go” counter located in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district in the TIFF Bell Lightbox at King and John streets. Created by celebrated fine dining restaurateurs Peter Oliver and Chef Michael Bonacini, all of O&B Canteen’s offerings are chef-prepared with fresh ingredients, from housemade sandwiches and breakfast butties to roasted half chicken and steak frites. Pair it with one of O&B Canteen’s great value wines by the glass or beers. O&B Canteen’s casual marketplace atmosphere, together with its quick, cheerful service makes it the perfect destination, morning, noon and night. In season, enjoy a large streetside patio.

The staff was very friendly, and the food was good. The appetizers portions are really small. It took an hour and half for them to get our food. We only salad bowls - the wait time was ridiculous and would not go here again.

As always the Canteen was a great place to enjoy brunch. It has been about 4 months since our last visit, and it was great to see that things are the same. Our meal was well prepared and tasty. Service was prompt but not hurried; as always we could linger over coffee once our meal was finished. The premises are always clean, particularly the washrooms. The employees make a difference; as we had not been in for a while it was nice to be greeted with a “ nice to see you again, we haven’t seen you for a while”. It is a great place in the entertainment district.

Mattie; the hostess and other staff worked efficiently as a team to ensure we had our drinks for happy hour, and our food before our theatre in a friendly manner. it was also a jays game so a few extra specials.

The menu was so very limited. we had a difficult time trying to choose something. a glass of house wime was $20.00?!?!?!? how crazy is that!? there were two theatre events going on a block from the restaurant and this restaurant should have been packed. so, maybe they need to reevaluate ther menue and prices?

Food quality was way below expectation for an O&B name to be attached. I think the restaurant owners need to pay a visit and check the food quality. I’d argue Kelsey’s has better food than the salad, Mac and Cheese (tasted like Velveeta cheese), Halloumi wrap and Pizza (dry and burnt).

The daily soup was supposed to be minestrone, but was spicy tomato with pasta, uncooked zucchini, and corn. I asked for crackers or bread for the soup and they charged me $3.00 for a slice of toast. The place was nice and conveniently located to the theatre, but there were a lot of little things that could be improved, including the price of food for portion size and quality.

Great food, service and atmosphere ... as always! Great place to go pre matinee at the Princess of Wales or Royal Alex.

We came for dinner before our theatre performance and the Food and Service experience were great. Kids had the fish and chips and chicken strips and I had the fish tacos- all very tasty and excellent. Our server Aditya ensured that we were out in good time to catch our 8 pm show. Great patio. Great experience.
