O&B Canteen is a casual, fresh market café and “grab and go” counter located in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district in the TIFF Bell Lightbox at King and John streets. Created by celebrated fine dining restaurateurs Peter Oliver and Chef Michael Bonacini, all of O&B Canteen’s offerings are chef-prepared with fresh ingredients, from housemade sandwiches and breakfast butties to roasted half chicken and steak frites. Pair it with one of O&B Canteen’s great value wines by the glass or beers. O&B Canteen’s casual marketplace atmosphere, together with its quick, cheerful service makes it the perfect destination, morning, noon and night. In season, enjoy a large streetside patio.

    I’m not one to gush so take this as an excellent review. Service was quick and friendly. Food was delicious. I wish their menu was a more extensive as I am a picky eater. This is a great pre show dining experience.

    Service was good. Food was ok. Actually the menu isn’t the best. Could be better choices I think. Otherwise very nice. Will go Back for sure.

    This was our favourite pre theatre lunch spot. The food was excellent and diverse and consistent. They made the best spicy Caesars. Now their food is mediocre, not imaginative and fairly pricey . The dill pickle Caesar had no dill ,no pickle ,very watery Clamato juice , limp celery, and a few pickled vegetables that looked like they had expired a couple weeks ago. A simple classic 101 cocktail butchered. I had the single slice of avocado toast ( the bread was delicious but untoasted) and my husband had an egg McMuffin Sammy, 2 cocktails. That worked out to be over $40 per person. From the murmuring around the very close neighbouring tables others felt the same way about the menus and the food. Such a shame. The staff were friendly and polite, so I’ll give them that, but we will not be repeat customers.

    Customer service was great. We ordered a Benny with medium eggs and they were very runny and barely cooked. The toast on the avocados was so hard I couldn’t cut it and had to send it back. Second time around was better!

    Location great as close to theatres. Service was attentive and friendly. All 4 of us had the steak and we were very pleased with it. Birthday “girl” enjoyed dessert on the house. We were there after a matinee and would have appreciated being able to linger a little longer however we were informed that there was a reservation waiting for our table so we left sooner than we had hoped but we were there for 2 hours. Would recommend especially for theatre crowd.

    Unfortunately it didn’t go well today. Fish tacos were cold, tacos stale and our other order was incorrect / that food was good though. First time this has happened.
