The restaurant is lovely, always has been. Service was good. The portions were small, food was fine. The wine pour was comical. Maybe 3 oz (maybe less) for $17. The glass looked empty when it arrived due to the shape and amount of wine in it. So, tiny amount of wine and a scoop of pasta with a 22% wage tax added was $68. There was no real value to the meal aside from the company of my friend.

Too expensive. Great bartender $40 for a single shot of scotch whisky that OLCC sells for $100.00 per bottle and they add 22% for tip on top of the high price. So Ridiculous.

We have enjoyed Nostrana for many years. Went on a Monday night a little later-7:30 than usual. Restaurant was slow and the kitchen was, very unusually, off its game. The trout came out overcooked, dry and plated uninterestingly. They took the dish off and came up with the replacement some time after I had finished my main. Although they took the fish off the bill, there was no accommodation made to the bill beyond that- Just a bad night for them and the recovery didn't help. After we asked about it, they made a further adjustment- which should have been made upfront. I chalk it up to a slow night and some miscommunication and it won't impact our willingness to go back.

Overall experience at Nostrana was great. The calamari dish tries to hard to be "fancy"… high quality good old fried calamari beats the style served at Nostrana. Pizza was cooked to perfection. Being picky here, but it could have used a bit better cheese "distribution". Ribeye was awesome and melted in your mouth. Overall, high marks for everything. Only negative would be the calamari trying too hard.

We had a very enjoyable meal with excellent pasta. We will definitely come again. We were glad we went early in the evening when parking was easy and the noise level was low. Everything we had to eat was outstanding and the service was very good.

My linguini with PNW crab was among the best seafood pasta's I've ever experienced and my companion's Petrale Sole was equally wonderful. A new Brussels sprout salad with crisped garbanzo beans in a sherry vinaigrette and local pinot noir made the dinner exceptional...complimented by warm, expert service and a Budino chocolate cake sent us home happy and satisfied entirely!

Every time I go to Nostrana I am blown away. The rsgu was divine and beautiful. The Nostrana radicchio salad is not to be missed and the bread was simply perfect. Plus we enjoyed vermouth flights while our dining neighbors enjoyed grappa flights! I love that the clientele is as friendly as the staff. Nostrana, you may be my favorite restaurant in Portland !
