In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Kai Haw Bai Toey - deep fried marinated chicken in pandanus leaves, Kaeng Kiew Warn Kai - chicken in green curry soup, also recommended the Nipa platter - a selection of the chef's special Thai starters.

My partner last night said this was the best Thai Restaurant she had ever been to and being Malaysian she should know. She particularly liked the fishcakes. Also, we had an excellent bottle of wine and outstanding cocktails all enhanced by the usual wonderful service

Yet another wonderful evening The prawns were mouthwatering and the soft shell crab still the best in London but as always it was Not and her wonderful staff which made it such a joy I love going there

As with many of the other reviews, the food was tasty, but they need more servers. It took 20 minutes before server came to take drink orders; 20 minutes to get them, and while eating, the food is spicy and we had to chase down the waiter for water.

The place is actually inside the Royal Lancaster hotel and it’s very nice and very clean. My husband and I got the hyde park view which you can see the Italian Garden and we both love it 😻 The food are amazing, the staff are very helpful and friendly they are mostly Thai people Staff. We probably go back to this place because we had a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary in Nipa Thai. ❤️🫶🏻🇬🇧🇹🇭☺️
