The Nicollet Island Inn has stood witness to over a century of change on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Inn is consistently named the most romantic restaurant in the area and its river views have been voted some of the best in the city. An immediately recognizable Minneapolis landmark, the Inn offers world-class cuisine created by Executive Chef Michael Rain , whose innovative and constantly updated menu includes a variety of seafood, steaks and gourmet specialty dishes. Our wine menu has been chosen specifically to compliment the food and highlight producers from the world's leading wine regions.

Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

    We brought out of town guests to NII and we all enjoyed our dinner. They have a good wine selection, including many Caymus family wines. Walleye was excellent. If I had a concern it was that bread service was not complimentary. I’d still go back and recommend NII.

    My husband and I have lived in the neighborhood for ten years but for one reason or another have never gotten here. We had brunch on a dreary Sunday after Christmas. Some people think the decor is dated but we appreciated the warm and festive environment. We both had the Reuben Benedict and it was a tasty change from a traditional Benedict. I can't remember his name but our server was pleasant. Our only complaint is that we like to have something sweet with brunch, like a pastry or cinnamon roll. Maybe the Inn could partner with a local bakery to provide those. We will definitely return, probably as soon as NYE for drinks.

    I am sorry to say that it was disappointing. I have always loved this restaurant and was excited to go back. Maybe the problem is the 'fixed menu'? I am not sure. But to be told your tenderloin will be closer to medium is a huge surprise. I would have passed on this restaurant if I knew this. The fish was fishy. The one item that stood out was the cookie - loved it. I did not expect to be disappointed. I did not expect slow service. The seating is somewhat awkward and the service was very slow. It was too expensive for mediocre.

    This was the second Christmas Eve my family went to Nicollet Island Inn for dinner. The festive and cozy atmosphere is unmatched. We’ve enjoyed appetizers, dinner, and dessert both times as well. Highly recommend for a holiday dinner.

    We visit Nicollet Island Inn every year for our anniversary. We wouldn't celebrate anywhere else because the atmosphere, the food and, especially, the service, are next to none! Our server, Rebecca, was exceptional!

    We had an absolutely wonderful holiday brunch there. The Inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas which set the mood. From the moment we were greeted at the door we were treated like precious guests! The food as delicious and the service impeccable. So many fun brunch cocktails and delicious items to choose form on the menu. We were never rushed and look forward to our return visit!

    The duck breast was very tough. Otherwise the scallops were great. Several bones found in the walleye filet.
