We went for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The whole experience was faultless. Great service including candles on all desserts and staff singing Happy Bitthday. Lovely pint of Longman bitter and then the food. Beautifully cooked fennel veggie dish as was the chicken and coley. Superb gingerbread with local blue cheese. Really spacious table that accommodated 4 of us and 2 dogs.Excellet and thank you to the staff

Our group of 3 all loved it. We weren’t ravenously hungry, so were very happy with our small plates (all pasta based). They were all delicious. The simple green salad consisted of interesting leaves and a lovely dressing. The staff were super helpful and charming. And we had enough room left for puddings - they were all delicious and we sampled each others.

FILO is a cosy and welcoming place to go for a meal. It is also dog friendly which is a big plus and adds to the friendliness of the venue. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to my party and other customers. The menu caters for all tastes, 2 of my party were vegetarians and were impressed with what they had. I ordered the fish and chips which tasted top notch. I don’t live in Hastings but I would recommend FILO if friends were visiting Hastings.

Had a really amazing experience at the Royal that had been recommended to us by friends. We had the week day fixed price evening menu which I thought represented great value for the quality of the dishes served and the variation of the menu. It was £22 for two courses and £26 for three. The taste was exceptional, the presentation excellent and the quantity was perfect. We had a side of buttered greens which was not required but added very nicely to the meal. I also really liked the layout of the seating and the decor in general of the venue. It just oozes tradition with the wood panelling and then the menu adds the contemporary aspect which balances perfectly. I would highly recommend and look forward to more visits.
