Restaurants à Rushcutters Bay

We’ve been here before and returned mainly for the fantastic chocolate orange dessert- be warned however you can only order one per table. Luckily I preordered as soon as we arrived! This is not to say that the rest of the meal wasn’t delicious-it was! The standout for this visit though was our waitress. She could not have been more attentive and engaging. One of our party had very restrictive dietary requirements and she double checked everything with the kitchen before suggesting choices and once again as she delivered the meals. Despite a raucous table of extreme drunks, we had a lovely evening , thanks in no small part to the service we received. We will definitely return

Table for 2 seated in the back veranda, a small, quiet glass enclosed space with only one other couple seated. We ordered the large set menu, the chef's acknowledged and accommodated some preference changes and allergy requirements. Service was impeccable, start to finish. It took around 2 hours for the full set of courses to roll through. We eat at many restaurants and have had some great elements, some outstanding dishes and some excellent meals. But the Ezra set menu was a cut above. Not only was each dish excellent, but the composition of the dishes together was divine. Highly recommend getting the hummus alongside the hazelnut and pomegranate tahini dip, and mixing the honey roasted cauliflower with the lamb ras al hanout and pickle. And the mousse was a perfect, light finisher. Easy to get to, near both the train and tram stations, and plenty of street parking in the area (for a weeknight).

I love this place. As a European you can find yourself transported back to a family restaurant in Italy - out of the way of the bustle of Sydney with superb food and an excellent wine list and the friendliest staff - it’s a go to for a really special dinner with a good friend.
