Environment can be a bit noisy but it was nice that couples tables were a good distance from the large tables. This time we were driving from Melbourne to Ipswich, but made a detour to stay in Stanthorpe, and dine at Essen. Once again, we were delighted with the food. Clarissa is a wonderfully innovative chef. Every course is a delicious surprise. I was born,and grew up in Stanthorpe. Nothing like Essen existed in those days though I well remember eating Chicken Chow Mien at Hong Sings. We will certainly return to Essen.
