    I had greater expectations for the food, I had a light dinner so I had some consommé (which was nice) and a fettuccine Alfredo that wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. The old fashioned was excellent, the best I had. The service was great so I don’t have any other complains. Will be back though!

    Used to come here with my parents 60+years ago - decided to celebrate my 79th BD here with friends. We had a blast! Service with Robert, our waiter, was impeccable. Food was delicious. Ambience was like being in an old movie. A bit noisy at our age but lovely nevertheless. Wondetful iconic LA experience!!

    英語が拙い日本人2名で利用しましたが、ていねいで紳士な対応をしていただきました。 英語も聞き取りやすく問題なかったです。 お食事も高すぎず安すぎずの価格です。 (前菜1品、スープ2品、メイン2品、サイド1品、デザート1品、コーヒー2カップで30000円位でした) どれも凄く美味しかったです。 座席も高い囲いで囲まれているのでゆっくり過ごすことが出ました。

    Fabulous professional wait staff and front-of-house crew. One of the best Manhattans I’ve ever had. Old-time ambience. Would recommend for romantic dinners, business dinners and family dinners. Great place. I can see why they’re still in business after 105 years. My husband and I shared a steak (thankfully, since it was a 16 oz steak!!!), gnocchi and grilled broccolini. Lots of food. All the staff we encountered were charming and treated us as if we were treasured customers. The service was swift but never made us feel rushed. We had a relaxed dinner but were in and out in less than an hour and a half. My only tiny quibble was that the tender steak was difficult to cut because my knife needed to be sharpened. I mentioned it to the assistant waiter, who apologized, saying something about them being closed Mondays. (I gather they don’t have time to sharpen on the weekends, so Tuesdays are the unsharpened knife days, perhaps?) I could simply have asked for a sharper knife, but didn’t want to interrupt my delicious food fest.

    Everything was wonderful but we had 9:00 reservations and near the end of our dinner we felt quite rushed.

    Normally we would not leave this review, but just because your the “Oldest Steakhouse in Hollywood” doesn’t mean you can lower your standards. 6 people, little wine and desert $1,000 which is NOT the problem, the problem was cold food. Yes, cold! The hollandaise sauce for the asparagus was so cold it would not even pour. The Potato’s were cold and even the asparagus was cold. The one of the six steaks was supposed to be med rare and came out med well, when we sent it back 6 min later they served a super rare steak. To compensate for these things, they brought new potato’s, sauce and asparagus but by then most of us had almost finished. The manager came over and offered my grown, 40 year old niece a brownie with ice cream for the bad experience. Since that was not something she would even eat, we left it on the table. Disappointed is the words I will use to describe this dinner.
