Le chef Michael Psilakis propose une cuisine d'inspiration grecque primée à Westchester avec l'ouverture de son restaurant MP Taverna, une interprétation moderne d'une taverne grecque traditionnelle. Composé de copieux plats grecs de Psilakis, le menu accessible de l'établissement est énoncé dans une jargon culinaire américain. C'est une autre façon de renforcer l'objectif du chef qui est de mettre la cuisine grecque sur la grande scène culinaire. « Les souvenirs que j'ai de la cuisine avec ma famille m'ont énormément inspirés pour la création de mes restaurants et j'espère que les personnes qui viendront se restaurer au sein du restaurant créeront leurs propres souvenirs à travers leurs expériences culinaires au MP Taverna », dit le chef Michael Psilakis. « Je veux que le MP Taverna soit une destination pour plus qu'un simple repas de fête, un endroit qui évoque la convivialité de votre table de salle à manger à la maison ».

We had lunch outside and we and the insects thought the food was great. Even though this time of year it is nice to eat outside - have to cope with the bugs.

Food, ambience (river view during sunset) and very attentive service were fantastic. All the food is fantastic. Last night we enjoyed the brussel sprout/potato appetizer and we both ordered the fusilli which is to die for. For me, it’s usually that or the branzino.

Really great food and ambiance. There were a few missing Greek dishes that are staple pieces they needed but I like that they had unique items instead, like Cypriot lamb sausage. More Greek wine options could help as well. Overall, everything was tasty and the staff is excellent!

Delicious food paired with excellent service. Aged Greek sausage was great. The village salad with their homemade dressing was awesome. Never had a bad meal here

This is our second time there, which was accidental really because I forgot how mediocre the food really is. And we’ve eaten pretty much everywhere in Westchester and even Manhattan. From Per Se to Grey’s Papaya. I came in and tried to sit in my chair, which was NOT a flat ,easy to access seat and the chair slid out like I was on an ice rink. It was either the feet of the chair being metal on tile (or whatever it is) or there was something that made my particular seat act like I was on actual ice. I sat down after falling on the ground and I could slide around the area where my chair was like it was literally on ice. It’s NOT me. I’m far from clumsy and I am somewhat overweight but not that much at 210lbs. And I’m exceptionally careful because I’m used to lugging around 20lbs of photography equipment when we travel in Europe. It was incredibly embarrassing, AND NOBODY FROM THE RESTAURANT BOTHERED TO COME OVER AND SEE IF I WAS OK. My wife suspects that this could potentially have happened before to people and they just don’t want to deal with the liability, but they’re really only compounding that. If I was thinking more quickly, I should have gone to an owner or manager and been extremely angry at them. But I didn’t, because my embarrassment level just wanted it to go away and not draw attention to myself. I don’t enjoy having people stare at my like I’m a clutzy moron. So that was the LAST time we go to that restaurant. The soft shell crabs that I got and my mother got were, frankly, indistinguishable from any other thing you’d over-fry or batter. There’s no taste of crab left. They gave my wife the wrong side, too. Just an awful, awfully expensive restaurant and definitely NOT worth the trip down from Croton on Hudson. Sambal is more fun, less noisy and the food is at least decent and interesting. I should have investigated the ‘cause’ of my chair being like ice skates. But I didn’t. For the reasons I mentioned above.

Great food and atmosphere. Great venue. We sat outside in the tent and looked at the Hudson.

Our lunch was so delicious! Service was excellent and it is a beautiful restaurant. Been here many times and will always come back.
