    First time dining at Morimoto. The decor is modern with changing colored lights was different. The service was Great. The fish entrees that we ordered (Cod and Salmon) were delicious. The chicken noodle soup was tasty. We tried sake, the alcohol content was strong. I would stick with wine. Overall, very pleased with the entire dining experience. I would come back again.

    We recently had a dinner reservation for three at Morimoto to celebrate a friend’s move out of the city. Our reservation was at 9:30 PM, and from the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance. The dynamic interplay of lights and the artistic glass tables created a cool, modern atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable evening. The food was nothing short of incredible. My absolute favorite was the spicy crunchy yellowtail—WOW!!! Amazing!!! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the crunch added a delightful texture. On the other hand, the yellowtail/scallion roll was oddly salty, but given the excellence of the other dishes, I assumed this was not the intended taste. Unfortunately, the service was the evening’s biggest drawback. Our server seemed to rush us through our meal. We started with a round of drinks and an appetizer to share. Before our drinks and food even arrived, the server returned to ask if we wanted to order another appetizer. While I appreciated the attentive table touch, it felt premature since we hadn’t tasted anything yet. Once our drinks and appetizers arrived, the server asked again if we wanted another appetizer before we had the chance to try what was already on the table. While it was convenient that the server was easily accessible when we were ready to order more, there were moments when his tone felt a bit off. For instance, when we ordered two more appetizers and a roll to share, he responded with, “That’s it?” which felt somewhat dismissive and hurried. Additionally, there was an incident where the server accidentally spilled drinks into one of our soy sauce bowls and our bowl of edamame in the same occasion. While he brought a clean soy sauce ramekin, it was odd that he didn’t acknowledge the edamame we were actively eating So, while the food at Morimoto was outstanding and the ambiance unique and engaging, the service could be further developed.

    We had a great experience and very much enjoyed the food and service. Our server Andrew was a true gem. He demonstrated extensive knowledge in the food descriptions and was a great server

This upscale restaurant offers a culinary journey that is both visually stunning and gastronomically exceptional. The evening began with a selection of exquisite drinks. One standout was the sake-based cocktail known as "Dreamy Clouds," which lived up to its name with its ethereal and smooth flavor profile. Another custom drink, reminiscent of sour apple candy, provided a delightful contrast with its tart and refreshing taste, showcasing the bartenders' creative flair and skill. The dining party indulged in the restaurant's famous wagyu dumplings, which were perfectly tender and bursting with rich, savory flavor. The rock shrimp, another appetizer, was equally impressive, offering a crispy exterior with a juicy, flavorful interior. The highlight of the evening was the Omakase, a 10-course tasting menu curated by the chef. Each course was a revelation, featuring an array of meticulously crafted dishes. From delicate bao buns and succulent scallops to the most tender cod imaginable, every bite was a testament to the chef's artistry and dedication to quality. The wagyu steak, in particular, was a standout, melting in the mouth with an unparalleled depth of flavor. The atmosphere at Morimoto is as extraordinary as the cuisine.     My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Morimoto about 15 years ago. We treated ourselves to the premium-level Omakase menu with the mid-level drinks pairing, and we've always remembered that dinner as one of the best meals we've ever had. As we had always wanted to return, we decided to have our 31st anniversary dinner there. We were surprised to find that the restaurant no longer offers different levels of the Omakase menu or the drinks pairing. We ordered the Omakase anyway and asked for just one drinks pairing, as neither of us felt that we could/should drink that much alcohol on a Wednesday night, anniversary or no. The waitress very graciously offered to serve our drinks pairing in two half portions, which we did not expect, but happily accepted. Unfortunately, while the food was good, it just wasn't at the level that it was at our previous dinner 15 years ago. My husband and I both recall at least three or more courses in that first meal where we just about swooned with how incredible the food was. At this recent dinner, it was more just a "Yeah, that one was good." I will say that our dinner 15 years ago was dramatically more expensive than this one. My husband remembers paying about $1000 (including tip) for that dinner. This dinner was just under $500 (with tip). Very surprising, considering that I can't even get breakfast at my local diner for less than $20 anymore. However, my feeling is that the ingredients just aren't at the same level/price point these days that they were 15 years ago. Adding to all of this, the decor of the restaurant is tired. We were seated at first at a two-top along the wall, but I asked to move to a booth in the middle because the table and chairs at the two-top are fixed and I'm short, making the table too far away for comfort. Anyway, in the few moments we were at the first table, I noticed how dirty the wall was. I guess because you can't move the table out the clean behind it, the wall never gets cleaned.

    The food was amazing. The food took a bit longer then expected and the waitress took a while before she created and was taking longer then most places but the food was totally worth it. Out of my comfort zone and totally worth it.
