We are North Central Florida's farm-to-table, local, sustainable foods restaurant. Operated by Bert and Tara Gill, Mildred's offers a seasonally changing menu highlighting what is available locally.

Offering quality and freshness with no shortcuts, our team prepares each dish from scratch.

We serve local produce and fresh Florida seafood every day. We also feature a full bar, an award winning wine list and homemade cakes and cheesecakes.

Mildred's is proud to say we serve Gainesville's best food! We are also in the Golden Spoon Hall of Fame for our dedication to great food and service year after year.

Reservations for lunch are not necessary.

we were a party of six with Reservations at seven and we were promptly seated by our favorite table near the bar. Our server was just terrific and johnny on the spot checking up on us. The food was very good as usual including the braised lamb, several had the flounder special And the duck breast as well as the hen. The flounder was fresh and very good but really needed to be served with a bur Blanc sauce of some type to give it some moisture. We also had desserts. As usual a wonderful evening at Mildreds.

Amazing food and desserts, great presentation, phenomenal service, and it was the perfect place to take my partner for his birthday! New favorite dinner place :)

I’m still not sure why a 12% service charge is added. I asked the server and got some story about it being distributed to non serving staff. Sure seems to me it would be better if the restaurant paid sufficiently and handled it with the prices on the menu. At $200+ for two for dinner including wine dealing with this misc. added to my bill it doesn’t feel good. For me personally I found the staff great and professional and the last thing I would is stiff these folk with a low gratuity. BUT with the 12% already calculated it is hard to know how much to add to that.

The high notes of the experience are the service was excellent and the kitchen did a very good job on the food. They are why I have given 4 stars. The low points are the value of the experience. It was a fairly steep cost and the ambiance is provided by old worn out dining furniture and paper table cloths. Nothing rustic or charming about it.

Went to Bluegills Friday night for first time in new location and decided to go to Mildreds on Saturday night (very loyal to Bert). We had a great dinner and service with Justice. 3 of us split the innovative mezze plate. The lamb dish was a new presentation of an old favorite and was wonderful. The softshell crab was really good. The scallops were also terrific with new sides but should have had 5 scallops, not 4. We all split the excellent ricotta cheese cake. Good value for the money. The only negative is Bert needs to invest in sprucing up the place!

Our server Jessica was excellent-she really knew her stuff. The food was sophisticated and approachable and loved every bite!
