The service was impeccable. George was awesome. I did have to send my lamb back. Med rare came raw. Second attempt was cooked perfectly, but one chop was all fat. The crunchy scallops was swimming in sauce that made the crunch soggy. The flavor of both meals was amazing but some disappointments. All else was perfection.

Overall it was nice. Very old. Could probably use a spruce up. 200 year old building is beautiful. Inside less so. Even smells a bit old. Service was good. We came from a bit of a distance. I would recommend if you live near by.

Never a bad night (or afternoon) at the Metuchen Inn. Great attention by our server Mia ... we tried a couple of the evening's specials. A hit on the sea bass and a just OK on the strip steak. In our party of 3, the seafood linguini was outstanding. Appetizers of 5-cheese ravioli and steamed clams disappeared quickly. I also recommend the cabernet. We travel from Staten Island frequently and its worth the trip.

Always enjoy an evening at Metuchen. Sat at a table by the bar and drinks and lots of appetizers! Outstanding

If you are searching for a cozy, quaint atmosphere. I suggest this restaurant. The food and service were excellent. They also had some music playing as well.

Too many interruptions by wait staff and management. Had not seen my friend in a long time. Our conversation constantly was interrupted and we felt rushed out. There were still two other tables which we were aware of and we left as soon as last table got up.

This is our place for all special occasions. The food is always delicious but the best part is who we are made to feel so special. All the staff is warm and welcoming but kudos to Jose, the Maitre’d who has a prolific memory, even knowing what is our favorite wine. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary last night and there was a beautiful flower arrangement on our table. We started with the steamed clams, the sauce perfect to be sopped up with the bread. We both chose the halibut for entrees, but i was accommodated to switch the sides to the ones listed with the scallops. Our favorite decoy Sauvignon blanc washed it all down. Portions were very generous but no room for dessert. A perfect celebration dinner!!!
