I had the Mattone salad with a few alterations. I prefer arugula instead of romaine. And I remove some of the ingredients. The kitchen is always very accommodating, and it makes my salad perfect.

We have been fans from opening and even had our wedding reception there. Service was poor, and the prices have skyrocketed while also sacrificing the quality. It is a shame to see the decline under the guise of an elevated dining experience.

I’d put Matone’s in the category of a traditional Italian spot that is reliable enough to stick around for a long time but is unlikely to knock your socks off. That’s not a bad category to be in if you’re trying to make a buck. They have a marvelous brick pizza oven smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and while I’ve never tried the pizza, it looks good. The charred Caesar is really good - and plentiful enough to easily split. The warm bread served with olive oil and parmesan is worth the calories and carbs. I had Braciole, which I rarely see on menus. It was tasty, but the flank steak was tough in places. My daughter ordered alfredo and she gave it a thumbs up. It was crowded for a Monday night so that says something. The service was attentive. If you’re hankering for pasta, their choices are limited IMHO. But lots to choose from otherwise.

We enjoyed the service and our meals. Had shrimp appetizer. We all enjoyed salads-ceaser & mattone salads. Also had their salmon.
