Marathon has served the neighborhoods of Philadelphia for over 25 years as a family-run restaurant group. We serve well-made American classics, and strive to source the freshest food locally available to us, including from our own Marathon Farm in Brewerytown, Philadelphia. Our favorite farm to table items include our grass-fed Cheesesteak, free-range Turkey Plate, and fluffy Omelettes made with cage-free eggs.

We love food, but more importantly we create the food that people love to eat. We set out each day to provide our guests with a complete feel-good dining experience in a casual setting. We offer warm and personal hospitality rooted in a real concern for our guests' experience and we believe that everyone should be able to afford delicious food. We bring people together through food, personal connections and artistic spaces.

We had a delicious meal at the Marathon Grill. The service was very good. Reasonable prices too. We would definitely return here the next time we are in Philadelphia

Overall, the food and service are very good. Today the service was exceptional. The caesar salad did not have anchovies which is supposed to be an ingredient and even when I asked for them, the restaurant did not have any. The noise level is too high for a comfortable conversation.

Lunch with a friend on a very busy Thursday! We were glad we had a reservation because every table was full! Always good food and service. The best chicken noodle soup!

After a wonderful time at the Rose Squared Rittenhouse Fine Craft Show, we had a delicious meal at Marathon on Spruce Street. The ambiance was enjoyable and the service was superb. Will be back for an encore!

Enjoyable evening, beautiful weather. The soup was to die for clam chowder. Dinner was really good. Service was great great hospitality shall return. TkU 🍽️

We had a strange atypical experience. We asked some questions about substitutions. The server checked and came back with no, then later yes, then no again. It took a long time to get our food. It was not the fault of the server. Apparently the kitchen staff could not decide whether they could handle the requests or not. Eventually we got our food which was good. Our server was very nice and apologetic.

Marathon has become one of our go-to places with our two kids. They have a variety of dishes for selective eaters, rotating activity placemats for the kids, and booth seating for squirmy older kids. We went for our 3 year-old’s birthday and the kids enjoyed the chicken noodle soup and Thanksgiving plate. My soy ginger salmon was delicious, and the service was attentive. When they’re busy, the service can be a bit slow, but on this particular Tuesday, we were able to order, eat, and leave within an hour!

Food was delicious. We had trout, ribs, chicken and a burger. But the noise was over the top. Had to strain my voice to be heard. Will return, but not on a Saturday night.

Food is very tasty and menu has many options. Service is good, a bit slow when it's crowded. The noise level is very high. We have to shout to have a conversation, not enjoyable.
