In the 15th Century, Prince Henry the navigator ordered his explorers to bring back to Portugal any exotic fruits, nuts and plants from the new lands. Tomatoes and potatoes are taken to Europe, Brazilian pineapples were introduced to Azores, Brazilian chili peppers grew in Angola, African coffee was transplanted to Brazil.
Today the Portuguese fondness for ingredients like cinnamon or curry powder, is also a legacy of his time. The Romans brought wheat and introduced onion, garlic, olives and grapes. Later the Moors were the first to plant rice and introduced figs, planted groves of lemons, oranges and almond trees. Portugal is a seafaring nation with a well-developed fishing industry trading cod since the 15th century.
Today, naturally, Portuguese cuisine varies from region to region , but fresh fish and shellfish are found on virtually every menu. BOM APETITE!!!!

Good selection of wines, Tuesday and Thursday- half price with full dinner. Rack of lamb - really good portion and well prepared. Paella- not as crusty as usual in Spain, more like on a Portuguese side. Great octopus. Excellent service, but ALL waiters wore dirty shirts (?!) - this is the face of the restaurant after all!

we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. The servers were very friendly and the food was very good. Look forward to returning and trying another dish or two.

Excellent food and service. Reservations on a Friday night during the summer are a must! Worthy of a 5 star review if the prices were not so outrageous for drinks at the bar. A martini and a gin and tonic should not cost $28.00 before tip.

Was not informed very limited menu for Fathers Day. Dad had rack of lamb he said it was very tough and dry. The rest had paella which was okay but nothing great did not even come with spanish potatoes. Overall very disappointed.

Just wonderful! Very good food overall, service exceptional, sangria and cocktails first rate. Wedding rehearsal party loved the dinner.
