If you haven’t experienced this legendary restaurant and winner of multiple culinary awards, along with being featured on Check Please! In 2004, a winning lottery ticket made a young man’s dream come true and Lake County became the home of the one of the most sought after Italian restaurants for dining and events, Mambo Italiano. Sal Cardone has grown his dream business from two store fronts to five off Butterfield Rd. In Mundelein over its 20 year history. This evolution was only possible because of the overwhelming response and support of loyal customers in Lake County, Illinois and beyond.

From the moment we walked in, to the greeting from our waiter Grant, to the delicious Espresso Martini, I knew the food was going to be amazing. This is a gem of a place. I am very excited that we tried Mambos. We will be back. If you are looking for great service, ambiance and delicious Italian food, no need to look any further Mambo's has it all.

The food is superb. We had a wonderful server, LouAnn who made are meal enjoyable.

Food was very good. The only tiny negative comment I can make is that we were led to believe that the creamy garlic dressing was house made and it clearly was not. Besides that, all our food was excellent. The fried calamari were cooked perfectly; lightly fried and tender, not rubbery. The marinara and veal ragu were outstanding as were the homemade ravioli. Prices for the specials were a bit steep, though. Michael, our server, was very attentive and accommodating while not at all intrusive. Great job all around!

We had a wonderful time. The menu had so many choices and everything was delicious. Our server was great and I would definitely return.

We had a business meeting over lunch. The restaurant was quiet enough to have discussions at normal speaking volumes. The food and service are always outstanding.

We've eaten there several times and every single time, it was excellent! Fantastic food, lots of choices, personable servers. One of my favorite restaurants!

Our grilled calamari and chicken Parmesan were delicious. Our Remole was reasonably priced. What made the evening special was our waiter, Michael. He was friendly, warm, professional… everything you look for in a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend

Service was not good on so many levels. Waited over 10 mins and then had to ask for a server for the table. Gave us no specials. Asked several times if there was gnocchi available, she seemed entirely confused by our request, and did not let us know what we could get it with. Did not let us know there was more than one soup or salad available. We asked for more bread, it never arrived. Never asked if we wanted a second cocktail. After our meal, asked us if that would be all instead of offering dessert. I had to ask if there was tiramisu.
