Récemment récompensé par le AAA Four-Diamond Award, le restaurant Madison's et Wine Garden dans le Old Edwards Inn and Spa redéfinissent la scène culinaire dans le centre-ville de Highlands. L'équipe culinaire talentueuse façonne chaque plat avec des ingrédients issus du développement durable en provenance de fermes locales afin de faire ressortir les saveurs les plus abondantes que la nature a à offrir. Un restaurant primé par Wine Spectator depuis les cinq dernières années avec le prix du « Meilleur » les deux dernières années, la carte des vins de Madison dispose d'une vaste sélection provenant d'une importante cave à vin. Le sommelier de Madison (ou « le navigateur de vin », comme il aime se présenter) aide les clients à faire leurs sélections. La cave à vin privée offre un cadre intime pour souper avec 12 places disponibles. Le restaurant Madison et Wine Garden sont ouverts pour le déjeuner, le dîner et le souper tous les jours.     Resting on their laurels. Although we had a reservation and the restaurant was half empty, we were asked to wait in the reception area. We got to the table and our drink orders were taken. I asked for the bread (which I was paying for) to come with the drinks. The bread came, the drinks did not. They were out searching for some special ingredient. Finnnaaally the drinks came. They were pricey kraft cocktails and rarely have I met a kraft cocktail that was not, at least, decent. Neither one of us finished our drinks so kind of sad we waited for that special ingredient.The menu is very limited (this was lunch). Supposedly farm to table, it's a wonder why when it's 83 degrees outside (yes Highlands is not as cool as you might think in July) they would offer a baked potato soup rather than a vichyssoise is beyond me. I got the wagyu smash burger and you really do expect a little more from a wagyu that is known for the fat marbling. It came dry and cooked to death. I've had a better smash burger at our Culvers. For dessert we had a pavlova with lemon curd (?) and the salted caramel cake (which is supposedly a southern classic). The pavlova was a combination of too dry and yet wet in the center and the lemon curd on had a very slight nod to a lemon. The caramel cake was actually burned on the bottom (I turned my burn side down to show the chef). As Mary would say........a very bad bake. The service (bless their hearts) was pretty bad and they obviously suffer from importing people from far away and lack of training. I suffered with my server (who tried his best) opening a bottle of sparkling rose. It was all I could do to jump up and do it myself. WAY overrated. In fact we had a reservation later in the week, that we cancelled. There are far better options for lunch in Highlands.

    The staff was all amazing! Sean - handled our bread service and also our room service the next morning. Very friendly and helpful! Kudos to the entire team! The Trout, NY Strip, Scallops with Gnocchi - all 10/10!

    We decided to have brunch here so I ordered the tomato basil soup and a cesar salad. The soup was delicious, but I thought the dressing on the cedar had easy to much mustard in it. I couldn't finish it. We also ordered the smoked trout dip, which was amazing. Service was awesome.

    Anica was great. Wine list robust. Food was good for the most part but burger a little over cooked and fries were hard.

    They did a great job celebrating a birthday and the service was great but the food was ok - was expecting much better for the price and the ratings/reviews/rep.

    We had a great dinner at Madison’s. The servers and sommelier were all excellent. The menu was varied with many choices. We both loved our meals. The ambiance and decor were lovely. Madison’s is always one of our go-to restaurants in Highlands.
