Food was good but service wasn’t. The restaurant wasn’t busy yet and the server wasn’t attentive. When the food was brought the runner asked if we wanted salt and pepper, which we responded yes, and it wa never brought. About 7 minutes later we flagged down the server and it was another 5 minutes or more before it was finally brought. Not so good…

Our server was beyond phenomenal. She knew that she was busy, but still gave us plenty of care and attention as much as she could! Diligently, making sure our water glasses were always full, that the appetizers salads and dinners were all-time perfectly, and the tiramisu was beyond amazing! The entire evening was a wonderful time, and restaurant was wonderful!

Overall, service was very good but food was mostly poor and wine was expensively mediocre. Service was attentive, rather prompt, accurate and courteous. The food was a different story. I decided to stay basic so as to get a good baseline. I was sorely disappointed in the Italian-American interpretation of Italian cuisine. The house salad was complex with a variety of elements. However, it was over-doused with balsamic vinegar which is virtually never used in that manner in Italy. The pasta, a chitarra (square) pasta, was overcooked to the point that was virtually round. The sauce was with good texture but overly sweet obliterating any refreshing acidic bite. The meatballs of, I believe, beef and pork, wreaked of garlic with much gristle, and hardly eatable. The dessert, a chocolate volcano, tasted of cardboard and was poorly executed. Wine didn’t fair well at all. I started with the Cielo Pinot Grigio which seems to come from a bottle that was open too long. This is a $10 retail wine being sold at $10 for a 5oz pour. Outrageous! The Zenza Nero D’Avola, the next wine was pleasant and varietal. This is $15 retail wine at $15 for a 5oz pour. Again, absolutely and greedily absurd! Mamma mio, che avidità!

Hard to imagine an Italian restaurant not knowing how to cook pasta. The pasta was either dry or sticking to one another. Super Disappointing experience on a special occasion.

One of the best italian restaurants in Pittsburgh. Pasta is all homemade and the staff is very good.

We used to come here years ago and went for a wedding in town. Caprese salad had fresh arugula and very good quality burrata but the tomatoes were awful. This is definitely not a farm to table restaurant. Tomatoes in sept should be red! Good was very average would not return.
