    This was a dinner we had been looking forward to. Shout out to our server - Susan - and the support staff whose service standards truly impressed. The menu features expertly paired flavors that highlight French cuisine as well as fresh, original takes on cocktails. The vibe is positively quirky and unique and our group agreed unanimously that this dining experience lived up to the hype. L’Opossum is a standout in Richmond food scene.

    As always, the food, ambiance, and service were excellent. My husband and I have been talking about L'Opposum to my husband's brother, my brother, and their wives since our first meal there in 2018. We wanted to take my brother and his wife to L'opposom because he is a chef, and she is the best cocktail maker. They both have an amazing wine collection. They are foodies, and we knew they would appreciate this restaurant and its offerings. My brother and I grew up in France. Luckily for both of us, cooking was only done with high-quality fresh food in our family. Every Sunday, we all cooked together and sat at the table enjoying conversations and laughs, and adults dutifully paired wines with the dishes of the day (of course, while educating us children about the need to do so) I am sharing this because L'Opposom offers a colorful environment with a skilled staff, a witty and excellent menu, a tremendous thought-through music list, and a great cocktail and wine list. In some ways, each time I have been there, I am taken back to my Sunday meals, where food and drinks were always delicious, laughter was plentiful, and you could hear each other talk (I do not know how it's done, but you can actually have a conversation without having to raise your voice or ask someone to repeat). Enjoy!! PS: Our server Candle was amazing.

    If I could give 100/10, I would. Food, service, ambience all on point as always. L'Opossum is a true gem and Richmond is so lucky to have her. Smoked Trout Winter Salad and Moroccan Chicken still lingering on the tip of my tongue.

    L’Opposum is my favorite restaurant!! The food is indescribably delicious, from the amazing aromas when the plate is placed in front of you to your first bite of your mouth watering dish!! The attention to detail from the service, ambience and presentation of your meal will keep you coming back.

    I have dined in some of the finest establishments in the country. From Chez Pannise and The French Laundry to Le Circe, Gabriel Kruether and Per Se in cities from San Francisco and Santa Fe to Boston and Bangor and scores in between. L’Opossum is as good as any of them and some of their cuisine is even better. I am a devote of Alice Waters and it’s a lot to say, but the food here is as good as hers. Creative cuisine and professional, gracious service with an eclectic ambiance and unique style make this my go to establishment. I am amazed how they do it consistently year after year. Mr. Shannon and his staff knows how to cook and how to run a restaurant, IMO, the toughest business on earth. Reserve your spot A.S.A.P.!

    L’O never disappoints! The attention to every detail makes for an unforgettable experience— from the music, to the decor, to the impeccable service and incredibly inventive and delicious food, L’O always delivers. We love to sit at the bar here, where we always make a new friend and enjoy a chat with the bartender.
