Massive wooden door, old bricks and rustic beams of Harrisonburg’s old City Produce Exchange building, the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience at The LOCAL Chop & Grill House. Our menu features fresh, hand-selected, LOCAL and seasonal foods prepared with a progressive flair.
Farm to Table is the mainstay of our eating philosophy. That’s why we work with community food producers to support organic, sustainable, LOCAL farms, and put the finest, freshest foods on the table for you. We’re serious about making choices that are environmentally sound, from the food we carefully hand-select to the aprons our kitchen and wait staff wear.

Outstanding service - they really went above and beyond to make a special birthday experience for our son who has aspirations of being a chef. So very much appreciated, a forever memory made.

Food was amazing. Service not so much. 45 minutes between salads and entrees Server disappeared for 30 minutes. Had to go to bar to get drinks

I made reservations for parents' weekend about 4 months ago before the football game time was released. Our son changed our day around with events and we did not have a chance to change before dinner, but the restaurant was full of people dressed more casually - which probably happens regularly on JMU football game days. The food was great. The server was very nice and helpful with suggestions. I called earlier in the day asking them to expand our reservation and they easily accommodated the request, which was very much appreciated on a busy day. The restaurant looked nice, but we were outside, so I didn't see it all. We will return.

We love local chophouse. It’s our go to when we arrive in Harrisonburg it is it our son at JMU. Food is always exceptional. Stuff is wonderful and the ambience is fantastic. They also have a wonderful wine list. Can’t wait to come back.

I ordered filet mignon - if it was filet mignon - which I doubt - it was thin, tough and tasted like a cheaper cut. The presentation was poor - a 3 ounce piece of meat with a few sticks of asparagus.

Celebrating my wife’s birthday, we were promptly seated, drinks and salad came out quickly, we had the salmon and scallops, both were delicious. Our server was Logan and he was excellent and helpful. Overall experience was excellent.
