Massive wooden door, old bricks and rustic beams of Harrisonburg’s old City Produce Exchange building, the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience at The LOCAL Chop & Grill House. Our menu features fresh, hand-selected, LOCAL and seasonal foods prepared with a progressive flair.
Farm to Table is the mainstay of our eating philosophy. That’s why we work with community food producers to support organic, sustainable, LOCAL farms, and put the finest, freshest foods on the table for you. We’re serious about making choices that are environmentally sound, from the food we carefully hand-select to the aprons our kitchen and wait staff wear.

Great service. Had our table ready with water before we arrived. Celebrated the birthday with ice cream and a candle. Outstanding dishes delicious. Overall a fabulous experience.

It was a wonderful experience really enjoyed it. They took special time and attention knowledge a birthday, which was appreciated.

The food here was excellent from the specials, appetizers and definitely the Ribeye. Enjoyed our dinner and the service.

We had a 60th birthday celebration. The staff did a fabulous job making a last minute switch to a table on the ground floor. Everything was great as always!!!

Atmosphere was very nice. Hudson was our server and he was excellent! Very informative and patient with 5 ladies 😁 The meal was phenomenal! The pork belly was perfect, the steaks were seasoned and cooked to everyone’s perfection. The Mac and cheese…. a definite order! We are all planning on trying to recreate it at home! The entire experience was just perfect. We will return whenever we are back in the area.

Our server was great - he made the meal better than it actually was. The course description titles on the menu are stupid - if a server has to do a disclaimer and explain them, they need to be changed. My salad was delicious but the garde manger should’ve ripped the huge lettuce pieces into more manageable pieces, especially given that the plate was so small cutting it up was difficult. My husband‘s salmon was great and cooked perfectly to rare as he requested. My duck was good but the fat needed to be scored more and definitely cooked much longer so cutting into bite size pieces was possible. It was not, and I had to discard all the fat since I could not cut through it. If you like duck breast, you know that the fat is a main component in the flavor. We will be returning.
