I appreciated that our table had good distance between other diners. Loved the availability of the $75 dinner prime rib special with all the sides & choice of desserts. The $11 valet was a surprise, but I haven’t been to Lawry’s in a while…

I have been dining at Lawry’s for more than 60 years. It has been a favorite and consistently wonderful. I was disappointed at our anniversary dinner last Saturday. We had to wait almost half an hour for a table after arriving on time. The wedge salad was supposed to have Point Reyes Blue Cheese, but the “cheese” on the salad was more like chunky cottage cheese. The lobster bisque was warm, not hot, and it had only 3 small chunks of lobster. The prime rib was not up to the quality of previous dinners—less tender and less flavorful. The trifle is now cut as a square—unlike the old style of being served in a glass bowl. And I miss the meatballs and potato chips in the waiting area. We will probably come back at some point, and I hope the issues discussed are improved.

Waited 1hr to get steak after sitted. After salads I lost appetite because it took too long. It was my husband b-day dinner but there was no cake service. Why did I choose this restaurant for the occasional day? Regret. Totally not worth it.

What was a very special occasion to celebrate our son's graduation from college turned out to be more than a disappointing experience. At the time I made the reservation online, I noted on the reservation (and called the restaurant in advance) with one specific request. Can we please not sit at a table next to small children. I guess that was too much to ask, because our evening was affected by being surrounded by tables full of small kids. When I ask for another table in a joining room, even if it meant waiting 30 min, I was told they could not accommodate me. The manager came by to assure me we would have a GREAT experience, so we sat down. For the next 2.5 hours our 'experience' was not ideal. The noise, running around of small kids (and general lack consideration by their parents) was one thing, but the affect on the wait staff was the most frustrating part. Even though we had two wait staff serving us, we found ourselves consistently asking one of them to take our order, refill our water, inquire where our appetizers/entrées were the entire evening. I can understand a full house with more than a handful of large parties can be challenging for the staff, but waiting an hour for appetizers, than another hour or entrees was just a bit much. The food was good, not great. Some hot items showed up barely warm, dishes that needed to be cleared sat for 20-30 minutes. The staff dealt with trying to manage tables/customers while working around kids running loose. A landmark I have enjoyed for decades really let me down. If we could have simply be sat in another area devoid of the one thing I asked to be considered, this would have been a better experience. To top it all off, the valet misplaced the key to our vehicle and spent more time blaming us for not giving them the key vs apologizing and trying to find it.

It was such a lovely experience to be there got to connect with family members from out of town and they loved it to the personal service at the table is fabulous

The food and and ambience was excellent. The staff was very attentive. We had reservations so we didn’t have to wait long to be seated, The prices are more than reasonable especially for the quality and quantity of what you are getting. I would highly this restaurant.

Lawry's The Prime Rib is the best restaurant for their signature entree, Prime Rib. Small, Medium, Large or Spectacular. Always the best. Warm and engaged management. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. And the best prime rib anywhere. And I'm told that the seabass with peppercorn sauce is also excellent. I trust the source so maybe worth a try.

The side dishes were very good, the Prime Rib was tender, but not overly tasty, knives were brought to the table with condiments and Yorkshire Pudding about 5 minutes after dinner was served. All less than what one would expect for the inflated price.
