Sokrates Greek Taverna on Winter Hey Lane in Horwich is a relaxed, friendly restaurant serving dishes from Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean. The focal point of the menu is the Greek Meze which is a selection of dishes served to the middle of the table for people to share over an hour or so. It's a great way to eat and experience a variety of flavours. The Meze can be tailored for vegetarians and for special diet restrictions such as gluten or dairy intolerance. On the A'la Carte menu one can find all the popular dishes like Mousaka, Stifado and delicious Souvlaki (skewers) and Lamb Koftas cooked on real charcoal.     4th time dining here and just booked for next week! Hands down the best Sunday lunch I've ever eaten! We usually head into Manchester town centre and pay through the roof for mediocre food, the Thomas Edgerton is fantastic value for money, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the food really is top notch! It's a treat to dine here and such a warm cosy environment!! I would recommend dinning here to absolutely anybody!

    I love this Restaurant, the staff are amazing and so attentive. The food here is delicious and well priced. It’s also great to see a good selection of Vegetarian options as believe me we get rather bored of veg pastas and nut roasts.

    Really enjoyable evening. Great atmosphere . Kids really appreciated the magician coming to the table and the live singer really made a relaxing ambience.

    Every time I go it’s amazing, not once have I been and not enjoyed the food the atmosphere the service. Nick and Christine efficient fabulous nothing is too much trouble. Get the Meze it’s good value for money and everything on it is amazing
