Very nice pub restaurant. The food was very nice and the staff were very friendly.

On our last day in Melbourne we discovered the V Wine Salon. In a beautiful old building, this is the quintessential wine bar. There is a lovely selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle, some nice beers and cocktails too. To go with the wine there is cheese, charcuterie and some very tasty "tarts" hailing from the Alsace region. One hour ran into about 5 and we tasted our way through a lovely selection of wines (mostly suggested by Vianney our host). If you combine lovely food and wine with comfortable surroundings and great hosts you have the recipe for success. It's on our list for all future Melbourne visits. We look forward to a pop up in Sydney!! Thanks again for a lovely night.

Good food in a welcoming atmosphere. The staff waiting tables were a little green but they were enthusiastic which I will take over experienced and jaded any day! The food and wine menus menu were short but interesting with a large range of wines by the glass to match as you preferred rather than being limited to one or two reds or whites. We started with cocktails and were delighted with being served by the mixologist-sommelier himself and given the background story of both with some interesting information on the ingredients and why they were chosen. It was a lovely start and set the tone for the evening. The food was tasty, not overwhelming in portion size (we are still giggling about the micro-scallops!) and mostly reasonably priced (the micro-scallops were $22 and definitely not value for money - very tasty though!) given we were in Melbourne. We shared a dessert which didn’t ring any excitement bills but hit the sweet spot needed at the end of the meal. We would definitely go back and enjoy another meal at the Alexander Bar, and yes, we’ll be starting with a cocktail again.

We love coming here before the footy at Marvel! Staff are super friendly and food was delicious. Even though it was busy, we got everything very quickly. No doubt we’ll be back 😊

Highly Recommend! Super convenient to Marvel Stadium & Southern Cross Train Station - great for before/after footy/concert etc. Yummy delicious food! We shared plates between us to try lots & loved everything! Spring rolls, satay skewers, dumplings, pork belly (amazing) stir fried vegies! The only thing which is out of their control is the toilets, they are separate down a hallway part of building next door & had barely any paper left (they explained they are not theirs & are cleaned by an external company)!
