The Hind's Head is a traditional country village pub and restaurant serving freshly made food and quality local cask ales. We are a community owned and managed free house in a very picturesque Shropshire village. We have the more traditional areas of the pub with wood burning stoves, as well as a lovely restaurant and welcoming orangery for all our guests to enjoy food, drinks and good company. We offer two wine lists as well as a great selection of cask ales, lagers and ciders. The views from the front of the pub have a perfect picture post card view of St Chad's Church in the centre of the village. While we offer traditional pub classics like freshly made pies and fish and chips, we also regularly offer specials that our chefs create weekly and do a lovely Sunday roast dinner that is extremely popular. Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times. You may not recognise some of the names as we bring you true Indian cuisine to tantalise your tastebuds. We aim to provide our customers with the very best of Indian food and service. The restaurant stays true to its Indian heritage with traditional cooking methods, top quality fresh ingredients and elegant service. Our Chefs prepare a special mix of dry whole spices for different dishes by grinding them in-house in your local kitchen. With many years of training and experience in five-star hotels in India and with International exposure, they are well equipped with the knowledge and art of balancing flavours and extracting natural colours from ingredients whilst cooking a distinct ‘gravy’ for each dish on the menu.

We have been to the Hinds Head 3 times now on 2 separate trips to the UK and intend to go back again tomorrow before we leave the UK. It is simply the most enjoyable dining experience we have had in the UK…period. We LOVE this pub. The staff is lovely. Everyone is kind, attentive and friendly. Walking in tonight was like seeing a group of old friends. The Pub is warm and welcoming. There are romantic tucked away corners with warm cozy wood burners in many of the dining areas. It is polished but not at all fussy. The food. The food! It is consistently fresh, expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. We have been to restaurants all over the UK and Ireland and the Hinds Head is the one we always want to come back to visit. This restaurant is by far my favorite place to visit. It is worth the drive. We will be visiting the UK again in the summer and we will make the trip to Norton-in-Hales to enjoy this lovely restaurant again.

The restaurant was busy and fairly noisy, but expected at this festive time. The food was excellent, however waiting 40 minutes for starter to arrive wasn’t expected!
