We booked online which was a fairly simple process. We only waited a few minutes to be seated. The table layout was stunning and were offered drinks straight away. The friendly staff took time to explain the menu and had clearly tried it themselves. We ordered cheese donuts which were spectacular, the starters were the haggis scotch egg and lobster tart which both exceeded expectation. For main we had the schnitzel with a side of chips and the portion size was good. Our deserts were the trifle and the battered mars bar which were a perfect end to our meal. The team checked in on us regularly but it was never overbearing and their friendly relaxed manner made it a lovely experience. Would definitely recommend.

Being able to look out on the sea while eating such incredibly delicious food makes this dining experience very special. The whole atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and staff couldn't be more helpful and efficient: nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The menu is so good, we went back for more the following night and will definitely return the next time we're on St. Mary's. Thoroughly recommended.

The Rising Sun really does have the best Sunday roast dinner. It deserves all the accolades it has received. We've been here 3 times over several years and it has always been superb. The food is cooked to perfection - melt in the mouth meat, crispy roasties. heaps of other veg with cheese sauce on the side - it's not just for cauliflower here! All roasts get a Yorkshire pudding and there is always plenty of gravy. Fabulous service from all the waiting staff. If we're coming to Truro or nearby Iwe'll always make sure we're here for a Sunday and make a booking for The Rising Sun well in advance.
