The Cross was absolutely fantastic. We went for my wife's birthday and there were some lovely touches including a card on arrival and and special dessert (won't say what to keep it a surprise for anyone else!). We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely delicious and better than many other Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. I had let the restaurant know in advance that my wife is gluten intolerant, and they made gluten free bread for her and adjusted certain courses - though we were pleasantly surprised by how little change was needed across the 7 courses. One course was swapped with no question too as my wife didn't fancy the steak tartare (though it was delicious, as she realised when trying mine!). The wine pairings were excellent too, and we enjoyed chatting with our waiter about the reasons behind the choices. He also changed one of the wines immediately when we all agreed it wasn't right with the dish. All in all a fantastic meal in a lovely venue with a great, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a new favourite restaurant for us and we will certainly be back!

Another wonderful evening with dear friends to celebrate our husband’s birthdays . We enjoyed anchovies , croquettes, pork and halibut, all divine and cooked with love. Delicious Muga Rose, thank you Eleni and team for great service x

By far the best Thai meal I have had in the UK! Everything seems to have been made in house with none of the very common mass produced starters and meats

Nice gastro pub in a quaint setting. Lovely food menu options, decent selection of cocktails, beers and wine. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink outside on a nice mid-June evening. Our work group had the fish and chips, lamb pie and shepherds pie and we all enjoyed our food. Service was friendly if a little erratic, but the staff were friendly so we had no complaints. Good experience overall.
