Restaurants près de Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station

We were a group of six friends. 3 of our meals were very good, two of our party had luke warm soups and mains that should have been hot (one was returned to be heated up) one of these mains was a ravioli which, though very tasty, was just above room temperature, the ravioli were large, while the filling (spinach and cheese) of a mean amount. Another mains dish (sea bass) was also a very small portion, (particularly when considering the cost). A chicken risotto dish was dry, overcooked and warm (not hot) and served (as were other dishes) on a cold plate. The seafood pasta dish was very good, both in flavour and portion size. The olives appetisers were very good. The setting was very pleasant. The serving staff were good, we were able to order and eat in an unhurried way (our meal was booked for a 3pm slot). This had been a restaurant I and my husband used fairly regularly.

Warm welcome, attentive service, delicious food, and even our little canine companion was made to feel very welcome! Gotta love Pho!!

Just a few niggles, with food Ham Hock terrine lovely but pickles very sharp would have been better with sweet pickle or apple chutney. Fish and Chips excellent but all piled on top needed a bigger plate had to eat through fish to get to chips. Cheese Board All the crackers were the same and not particularly good, no grapes just slices of very sour apple and no pickle the gherkin and picalilli from the terrine would have been perfect here. All in All the quality of the food was excellent but 🤷 Also the music that was playing was depressing, a recording of someone doing very bad covers of what originally were miserable songs

The fish soup was great unfortunately the steak was not good half of it was rare and half was medium it all should have been medium rare. It was taken off the bill but I would have preferred a perfectly cooked steak. Pistachio soufflé was as good as it always is but the crumble lacked crumble on top and there was not enough custard Service was very good. Overall it was a shame the food wasn’t great today.
