We've since added restaurants in Circular Quay, Westfield Sydney, Neutral Bay, Chatswood and Galeries Victoria, and in 2015 we added organic, fresh produce from our farm in Byron Bay. Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. An exceptionally good experience. Three flawless entrees with the crab salad the highlight. Excellent steak. Overall one of the highest quality meals I’ve had in Australia.

The experience which allows only 60 min sitting felt a bit rushed. We were asked to place our final order at 30 min as it is the restaurant’s policy to ask for final order 30 min before the end of the sitting. The charcoal flavour was strong - which the kids didn’t enjoy. But overall an authentic yakitori drinking spot.

Outstanding food.. generous portions, brilliant balance of heat and spice, fresh and delicious. Awesome authentic Thai cuisine. Unfortunately wine list is very limited and no BYO allowed.
