Wallis & Co is a modern Bar & Kitchen nestled on the picturesque setting that is Hartlepool Marina. The Duke of Cleveland is situated on the Headland in Hartlepool, just a short distance from the coast and next to St Hilda's Church. It is a listed building and the oldest one still in use in the town. Our establishment is a restaurant and pub with an excellent reputation for serving traditional homemade British dishes. We take pride in sourcing produce from local businesses as much as possible and use these ingredients to create the best dishes for our patrons. Our signature dishes include Haddock in our special beer batter with hand-cut chips and the local speciality, the chicken parmesan. We believe in keeping things simple and making them well. On Sundays, we offer a traditional roast dinner with a choice of Roast Rib of Beef, Loin of Pork, Breast of Chicken or Lamb Shank.The Duke of Cleveland is the ideal venue for weddings and other special occasions or events. It has a choice of function rooms suited to your requirements. In the summer months, we open our cosy bear garden.

Le Blackfriars a été élu meilleur restaurant aux North East England Tourism Awards en 2013. Occupant un ancien couvent médiéval chargé d'histoire, fondé en 1239, le restaurant a servi de réfectoire pour les moines, ce qui en fait une des plus anciennes salles de restauration construite au Royaume-Uni. Ce restaurant de 72 places sert un menu de style britannique classique et copieux, à base de produits de saison provenant des fermes et des marchés locaux, accompagnés d'une grande carte des vins primés. Il comporte également une salle de réception pouvant accueillir 50 personnes et un atelier pour 12 personnes proposant une large gamme de plats. Le Blackfriars a récemment été élu « Meilleur dîner du dimanche à Newcastle » par les lecteurs des journaux The Observer et Metro. The Crathorne Arms is a great pub in a wonderful community spirited village, lovely people, Lord Crathorne himself couldn’t be more supportive, how lucky we are.Our life has come a full circle from a town pub in Middlesbrough (well Eugene has) to the tontine (McCoys Hotel, Restaurant and Bistro) to a village pub in Crathorne, Ten Minutes from Middlesbrough.We live above the pub, our furniture and furnishings live downstairs as they can’t and won’t fit up the stairs! So the canoe has the condiments, the bookcases our books, the huge sofa with big squashy cushions to sink into, tin lanterns reflecting patterns on the ceiling, this all makes for a homely feel and that’s what we would like to create along with good wholesome food and drink.Of Course the staff, front of house and kitchen are all great, hardworking, smiley, enthusiastic young people and a joy to work with.

Lovely food. Was disappointed that we were unable to take a meal out for my elderly mother who is unable to get out. We have done this plenty of times before but were told the kitchen was busy. Had to go elsewhere for a single meal.

The seafood linguine was delicious though it could have been a little hotter. The lunch time menu was great for my friends, they said. Staff were friendly and helpful however we were left with a number of cups, saucers and teapots on the table for a while. Would still recommend the restaurant for the food, ambience and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
