Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar. BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

Argentina-raised John Rattagan was the family grill master from an early age, in a country where the asado (barbecue) enjoys near sacred status. Luckily for London, he left his homeland as a young man and set up Buen Ayre in the heart of trendy Hackney. The headline act is the steaks, served in a range of cuts with a simple garnish. Papi is a low-waste focused restaurant located in London Fields with a changing, seasonal menu and a low intervention wine list. Our dining room is intimate and cosy, with low tables, counter top and a high-top chef’s table in front of our open kitchen. Our menu, which is designed to share, changes regularly but we offer dishes such as BBQ potato bun with tuna ‘Nduja, raw bream and Tosazu as well as larger format plates like whole John Dory with yuzu Beurre Blanc or adobo Guinea Fowl with baby leeks.

The name Ombra literally means ‘shadow’, in Venetian dialect it’s the familiar term for a small glass of wine, which originates from the traditional wine sellers retreating to the shade of St. Mark's Tower to shield the wines from the hot sun.  Here the team serve a seasonally evolving tasting menu which changes every three months. We rely on local, seasonal ingredients using these when at their best. 
 
We believe in using small amounts of ethically and sustainably reared meat and fish, and partnering with suppliers who share in our values. The Hemingway is a good quality pub that serves delicious no-nonsense grub.You can see every dish being made to order in our open plan kitchen- no soggy microwaved frozen meals here! We take great care in sourcing our produce direct from the best suppliers both locally and abroad. Our menu is a mix of classic crowd pleasers and regularly changing seasonal dishes, which means you'll always find something to tempt your taste buds (even if you're in every day!).We are a pub, not a cocktail bar and while we make a blinding Bloody Mary, and will happily mix you an Aperol Spritz or Negroni, we don't do Pina Coladas. That said, we are extremely proud of our wide range of spirits from around the globe, which (where possible) we offer at affordable prices. The wine list has been chosen to provide a simple but high quality selection that goes as well with our food as it does with some good company.

    Probably the best dining experience of my life. Lovely people, atmosphere, drinks and food. The whole experience felt deeply connected and the people running the place have put their whole hearts and minds into it. You won’t regret it.

    Look - this place is simply outstanding. I have no idea why it's not always completely packed. The depth of flavour on every dish is on point, it's an imaginative menu, and wine list is honestly cray cray. Charlie in front of house is a treasure. If you like fab small plates and great wines you should add it to your list.

    A lovely evening with the perfect steak. Food was incredible as always. The staff are super nice and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. It’s very comfortable. Had a fab time, thank you.
