Eating & Drinking on the waterfront in Kingscote.The Zone Restaurant & Bar is located in the Chapman Building of the Aurora Ozone Hotel and features stunning views over Nepean Bay. Open daily for breakfast from 6:30 – 10:00am, lunch from 11:30 – 2:30pm, and dinner from 5:00 – 8:00pm, the menu focuses on international cuisine, seafood and local Kangaroo Island produce.Enjoy the relaxed vibe of The Zone Restaurant & Bar with its walls decorated in old photos and newspaper articles providing a look into its heritage. You will also notice colourful pieces of artwork featured throughout the The Zone Restaurant created by local Kangaroo Island artist Neil Sheppard (Shep’s Studio).

Sunset Food and Wine is a modern bistro which overlooks the beautiful American Beach.​ It was the first and only restaurant on Kangaroo Island to be awarded one Chef Hat from the Australian Good Food Guide in 2017 which it maintains today. ​

    Sunset Food and Wine is between Penneshaw and American River on Kangaroo Island. The menu was a 3 course menu with a choice between 3-4 entrees, 3 main courses and 2 desserts. The services was amazing as was the food. Each was had just enough to fill us. Two did not eat seafood so the entree was able to be altered for vegetarian option. The white chocolate mousse with freeze dried rhubarb was delicious without being too much and was the right portion. Our dogs were welcome on the deck and the views were fantastic.
